I'm Kingsley Daemon, a fresh new voice in the world of spine-tingling tales. While I may be new to the publishing scene, my love for the dark and unsettling has been simmering for years. Growing up, I was that weird kid always into the darker side of things - like the kind of music I'd listen to, or films I'd watch, even the games I played – the darker and creepier, the better.
In recent years, I found a love for reading and storytelling, and after a surge of creativity recently, fueling more and more wild stories to tell every night before bed, I decided to expand my reading to Stephen King, one of the best in the game. I was not disappointed and was pleasantly surprised to find how many of his tales were short stories and novellas, and with that, it helped me put into action my own writing.
My work delves into psychological phobias, fears - some supernatural and extraterrestrial - intertwined with the dynamics of relationships, adolescence, formative years, and external impacts on individuals as society evolves. Initially short stories, I have grander plans to adapt these tales into novels, short films, and other mediums. My stories carry messages, sometimes subtle, other times overt, prompting readers to re-imagine our journey as a species from past to present. Ultimately, my work explores how we grapple with the unexplained through the lenses of rules, morality, and personal belief systems.
It was refreshing to find in my own research how many truly good short stories would later be adapted to become films or TV series, and later even novels. As someone who loves art in most mediums, this was a new direction for myself to pursue and explore. So please join me on this new chapter, and I hope not to give you nightmares too bad.
