word wiz

This is a work in progress and is a short story of 9 pages at current but will be expanded.

The story follows a divorced father named Connor who buys an old 1970s WordWiz toy at a jumble sale as a birthday gift for his young daughter Megan. Initially delighted with the retro toy, Megan starts communicating through it by typing words for it to vocalize. However, strange occurrences begin to unfold. The toy seems to develop an unsettling ability to silently communicate back to Megan on its screen. Peculiar incidents at Megan's school raise suspicions about the toy's influence. 

As Megan becomes increasingly withdrawn and isolated with the WordWiz, her behavior takes a concerning turn. Connor and his brother Robby grow alarmed as they realize a dark force has claimed the toy and appears to be manipulating the innocent Megan. Despite their desperate efforts to separate the two, the toy remains supernaturally bound to the little girl. A gripping unease builds as the toy's sinister hold over Megan intensifies, leaving her family terrified about the malicious entity they are powerless against.
